Summer is going to be having her bouncing baby girl the end of May and we needed to squeeze in one more girls trip before the time came for her to be home and tired :)
So, we planned an excursion to St George and took off!
Summer, Steph, Jessica, and I drove down in my van.
Brittney drove down by herself later that night, and Kacee drove up from Vegas and met us there!
First stop=dinner!
My friend had recommended this place, so to this place we went.
It was good. Well, at least what we had- fish tacos and cabo corn- the corn was delicious!
That night we just shopped around- went to Wal Mart, and other random spots just to stock up on what was needed for the rest of the weekend. We also went to visit Haley and Aaron (sum's bro) and Aaron took us on a little Parade of Homes in their neighborhood- and we ended up at this insane house that was picture perfect- and it was a lady from Crossfit that I met over spring break that owns it! Small world!
Then we stayed up waaaaaaay too late talking. Brit shared her "story" and I seriously am so blessed to be married to such a dynamite guy- as Fix It Felix would say!
Like until 3 in the morning too late.
The next morn, I talked Kace into going to Crossfit with me.
It was so fun working out with her- I wish we could do it more often!
Afterwards, we went to this little gem- Orange Peel- and got ourselves a delicious nutritious smoothie. It was divine!
All we wanted to do this day was lay out. Just bask in the sun and relax and read our gossip magazines! It was soooo windy, but we did not let that stop us! I bought this trusty lil guy for the pool, and as soon as we had all our gear ready....
And ran over to the gas station to fill up on swigs (some of us needing more than others)
We were off!
It was soooo nice. No kids needing us, just laying there, for hours.
I tried to get a picture of the wind, but this doesn't do it justice- it was howling crazy!
But we still found solace in the sun and the warmth and the quiet!
That evening, we headed to dinner at Red Robin. Jena came and met us, which was super fun, and we chowed on fries.
Next up we hit up Kohls- because in the good ol days when Summer and I had St George as our second home, we would always go here and find awesome shoes!
Summer needed a ride for her poor pregnant bootie and Jessica- being the nicest and sweetest sister in law ever- obliged.
After Kohls, we spent like 2 hours in DownEast Home. That was fun.....I had the stomach ache from Hades, so I just rested up and tried some stink bugs :) undercover of course- and the girls found awesome deals on bedding and clothes and what not.
Post shoppings, we found ourselves needing ice cream. So, to DQ we went!
Kace and I shared this bliss- caramel oreo shake- and wow- could be my new fave! We had to pretend we had just been married of course...
Which turned into a fiasco as it dropped down Kace's face....oh well, deliciousness....
Back to the condo we went, all filled up and stuffed with garbage guts.
We are pigs.
Steph and I had matching jammers!
It's funny that every sleep over we have- at least 2 of us are sportin these.
We stayed up just as late this night as Steph told the story of the plane crash that happened to her Dad, Brother, Brother in Law and 2 uncles.....holy cow- it's incredible, and horrific....
Kace and I forfeited working out for sleep and it was a good choice, because we were SLEEPY!!!!
So sleepy that by the time we woke up and got ready, it was lunch time :)
We met Jena at a gas station and grabbed her from Derek and then went to another recommended place to dine- The Lunchbox
And wow- it did not disappoint!
It's all made fresh- so fresh that on Saturday when he runs out of something- it's out- there is no making more- so luckily we found something there to eat! Our first choice was gone, so Kace and I shared a BBQ chicken sandwich and a Chef Salad. Good choice on us- even if it was the second one.
SOOOO good. Everyone loved their food. It was awesome!
Here we are all loaded in the car. Such a bunch of mama's!
Part of the reason we wanted to vacay to St George was because it is warm there- therefore tanning weather- well this wknd was not on our team- and Saturday was no good. It was cold and dreary and we were not prepared for such things- but it all ended well because we just ended up shopping, and eating a lot, and shopping more, and going to a movie.
Another must do- TJ MAXX-
I found this fantastical rug!!!!!!!!! I was so stoked.
There were 2 of them-one round, one rectangular. Maybe Jena wanted the rectangle one, but I dibbsed it- it caused some angry feelings...
And she tried to steal it- but no! I won!
The ladies of C2 just reppin'!
Love all these girls so much!!!!!
SOOO glad that Kacee made the effort to come with us! She's never been on a full girls trip and she fit in perfectly and it was so fun!!! I love her. I'm so grateful that Brent has such awesome friends with such awesome wives!
We decided to get our toes did to waste some time :) and it was a great idea! We happened upon this little magical destination. For $19 you got a pedicure, and they just got you in and out like a well oiled machine! There were soooo many chairs lining the walls, and it was crazy!
These 2 onlookers just soaked in the amazingness of the shop.
Kacee headed home after pedis, and Brit headed home right before.
It was so great having them both there!
Next up=movie.
The Other Woman
Oh my holy hilariousness!
We laughed the entire time.
ENTIRE!
Of course we got some trusty drinks and a huge bucket o' popcorn to quench our movie cravings.
And we got a deal to boot! Bring on the buttery goodness!
I told you this was a day of gorging our bottomless black hole guts....next stop- The Fractured Prune.
It's a made to order donut shop- and Jena LOVES it. I do not, but I figured I'd give it another try. We went with Cody and Ivy in January and were NOT impressed, but Jena had already gone that morning, and got herself another dozen to take home this trip :)
A Hole in One was what I ordered- that's right folks, a donut with ice cream on it. Mine was the best of all I do believe, but it still wasn't that great.
I got a carameled apple donut- and meh- wasn't that great.
Summer hated it.
but it was still fun of course. Also- look how gorgeous my sis is!
Are we related?
That evening, since it was just us 3, we had ourselves a little dance party USA and taught Jess some zumba. Had to work off some of the crapfest we ate that day right!? And perhaps we video'd a beautiful rendition of one of our dances!
Sunday morning, I woke up to this: My cute kids all at church- hairs did by themselves and dad. He even put a bow in Fin's hair. He makes me smile. :)
And it just so happened that Sunday was the best weather of the weekend, and since we were in no rush to get home, we laid out for a while. It was blisstastic! Summer even discovered a comfy way to lay on her baby belly!
And while you lay out and read magazines and sweat...the magazines may bleed on you.....
Ben and Brent both texted Steph and I to tell us that the freeway was closed by Beaver because of a stand off, so when we were about to leave, we changed plans and just hung out a little longer. It didn't take too long for it to get cleared up thank goodness, and we were on our merry little way. Thankfully we weren't already on the road when we found out because some people had to take 2 hour detours...
Steph and Jess entertained themselves by doing make overs in the back seat on the way home.
It was such a great weekend.
I always come home refreshed, and more grateful for my family, and super in love with Brent :) I am blessed. With great friends, and a great family.
