My mother is amazing, so it was no surprise, when I cried for a little vacay from the children on the wknd of her birthday, she obliged, willingly, and for a lot of days. She is the BEST. I needed some space, desperately, and she came to my call. I hope she knows how much she saves me....in more ways than one. I love that she is my mom. She's the most giving person I've ever known.
So, Brent and I had 4 days to ourselves. What to do??? What to do???
Well, date nights, eatings, hiking galore!!! It was fun, and quiet, and peaceful, and so fun. I love my hubs. We have so much fun together. It's kind of heavenly.
On the Sunday before they came home, we decided to venture to Stewart Falls. We'd never done that before, and figured why not!?
Problem number one....we had no idea where we were going. Figured it couldn't be that hard, but it kinda was. We walked up and down this hill 46 times I'm sure.
Then we tried to get some internet, but it wasn't happening.
found some good looking stairs and decided why not!?
FINALLY, they led us to the trail.
It wasn't too long, but longer than I'd expected....but it was fine. The views were so pretty, and the falls were awesome
Then we hop skipped over the river and back down...kinda fun...kinda not, but we did it :)
The next morning, my dad called to say that my mom was in the ER so I needed to come get my kids....
Not good- the mom thing, not the kid thing- apparently she'd been passing out and throwing up since the night before and she fell and smacked her head pretty good, so dad took her in. Thankfully, she is ok. She was dehydrated and had low blood pressure, but she was ok. I felt so bad it happened while my kids were there, but dad said that when he told the kids, Max gathered them all together and had a prayer- oh that boy. How I love him. We are so blessed to have him.
So, I just "ran" up there and got the kids. Which was fun cuz I had Brent come with me and we got to hang with the fam for a bit. Oh how I wish thy lived closer :(
Tuesday morning, bright and early (gagging) Max and I headed to Jeremiah Johnson Scout Camp- just one of the "perks" of my calling.
He was so excited to go though. Last year, for whatever reason, his leaders decided it wasn't important to let any of us know that it was coming up, and we were out of town the week before, and he missed it...real cool leaders.....he was crushed. So, needless to say, he was so excited.
First stop=slingshots
Then digging for gold
Then some lame game.....
Pictures with my boy
grabbing a nugget
Bow & Arrows
And the blasted hand cart pull/push/death march....seriously. I don't know how those people did it. I feel like I'm pretty strong from the crossfits.... :) and I was pretty much alone in tugging this thing up and down a hill and I was DYING!!!!
Guns.
We had some lunch, some stilts, and some closing ceremonies, and all in all it was a good, quick, day. I'm glad I got to go with him!
