gone again...why stay home ever? it's way over rated.....

So, the weekend after we got home from Montana, Brent had a conference to go to at the Stein Ericson Lodge in Park City....woot woot!!! Woot woot cuz we got to go stay up there for Friday night as a family. Not gonna lie, I was kinda over the "traveling with the kids" sitch for the year, but Brent wanted us all there, so away we all went.
Dang that place is beautiful- especially in the fall. The canyon was amazing. I love it here. And the weather was perfect.
Like I said, the camera and I haven't really been getting along so well lately, so it spent most of it's time in the car....lame on us for being so lazy and not wanting to go grab it cuz the first night there was lots of fun.
We went out to eat with a colleague of Brent's and his cute family at Main STreet Pizza NOodle or whatever it is, and I wasn't uber impressed, but Rachel Ray was there a little bit ago, I saw her on the Food Channel, so it must be delightful somewhere!

Then we spent the evening swimming with some fam's from the conference. The kids were in heaven, and the pool was a titch too cold for these parts, so I opted to stay in the perfectly heated hot tub all night- delish.

We did pull out our trusty phones and get some pics though, so that was great.
After swimming, the girls wanted to jump in the tubbie. Yes, I let my children play in the jetted tub at a hotel. Yes, they rubbed the bubbles all over their faces. Yes there was a line of film on the sides of the tub after they were done. Yes it grossed me out, but c'mon- look how much fun they had- and they haven't even gotten AIDS from it once!

the digs:
kids room:
kids chillaxin out, watching a movie, going to sleep....The next morning, I apparently woke up on the wrong side of the bed, and wanted nothing to do with my life, but I had to go hang out or else all fun would be ruined cuz Brent couldn't take the kids on the coaster one by one and leave the remaining 2 children with....who? Oh right, so I got stuck in Park City, hanging out with my cute family for the jist of the morning....i know...waaa waaa waaambulance....it's the hormones, I swear!

Sawyer chose this little gem of a waste of dollars!!!!
She just laid back and had a ball on the train with the one other passenger.
I think she felt a little jipped when all was said and done- as she should've, but it was her choice....so she was stuck with it! No re-do's!

The "big kids" opted for the Alpine Coaster which I've heard is great fun. I however, didn't join in the riding-I needed my poopie diaper changed badly that day, but I went along and watched....
Conli=not the most daring child.
But, I MADE her go on it, and she loved it! So much, in fact, that she wanted to ride again, but I wasn't shelling out another 20 so that all her dreams could come true!
rude much? no, just not money bags!!!
Max was content with his one ride, and hair do and he played great while we waited for Conli and Brent to come back to us.
just the beautimus view i gazed upon for like an hour.....
Max and Brent ready to make their ascent to the mountain top
Meanwhile, Conli was busy cursing me for not letting her go again, and dropping her shoes in her rage so that they'd get stuck on the roof of the building we were over- which was awesome to have me and my belly heaving through the teensy little bars separating us from our safety to our fall of death to retrieve said flops.....UGH!!!!
Sawyer, on the other hand, was delightful. AND her hair was in rare magnificent form with the perfect amount of wind to spunk it right up!
photo shoot entailed.
and she loved it.
she's a riot.

And Max and Brent finally arrived safely on the ground. Brent said it was a good thing I didn't want to go (maybe I was in a HORRIFIC mood and wanted to go home and leave them ALL their, but I didn't) cuz it made him a little woozy, and believe you me, if it made Big Red woozy, I'd been throwin up all over that garbage!
It was a fun little adventure. I went home and slept for 3 hours and felt mucho better. Brent and I even went on a little date that night. Thank goodness for sleepies!

Happy Birthday My Sweet Boy!!!!

Mackey's bday celebration was the day we got home from my parents. It was a great day. Our family's are so good to our kids. They are so blessed and they love their aunts, uncles, papa, manas and cousins so much.
Max has been eagerly awaiting "his" pillowcase since the girls' got theirs in the spring.
And Mana did a bang up job on this bad boy if I do say so myself! What the stitching! :)
He was stoked!

He was such a sweetheart. He'd let the girls open presents and just bask in the gift inside- such a sweetie. He loved everything and was so excited!

Aunt Karri was Ace of Cakes yet again, and made him a lego cake in the shape of an 8. Then she got him oodles of lego men to play with on it, and off of it!
Monday was his actual birthday, and Brent- man I love him- went to the store early, after he was done at the gym to get blueberry muffins cuz how could we NOT have them on his ACTUAL birthday, although we'd done them the day before at my parents, and in St. George a week ago!? He also picked up some balloons of goodness!
He really wanted a race track in the shape of an 8 for the big day, and I couldn't let him down, so I googled some, and made a really easy one I found on Kraftfoods.com. Delicious too!
too bad the she porche (i forget her name) had a run in with the frosting on her side on the way over to the celebration.
We told him we weren't doing a friend bday party this year, but we would take him some where to eat and invite some friends- minus presents and a real "partay" feel, and he thought Pirate Island sounded superb. He's missed out on the other times we've gone with the girls cuz of blasted school.

We invited some friends and luckily some were able to come on short notice.
They had a blast playing and gaming.

And I had fun eating and binging on their fries- they're freaking good. Thanks Summer!
Conli and her long lost Ellie. When Ables moved this summer a piece of my children moved with them, and they ask for them ALL. THE.TIME. I was soooo grateful they could come this night, the kids were in heaven!
Max and the boysies. Summer and the kids came too, but Brynnie and the gals were off gaming when I finally realized I hadn't taken any pictures. Sheesh- me and the camera must be in a fight lately because it keeps staying home when I go out.... I don't know what's happened- prego maybe???
me and my friends from the nighty night
thanks for coming ladies!!
and my sweets after we left. They had a blast!
Easy peasy! Birthday cheesy.....
It was a chill evening for our boy that we love.
I really, truly, couldn't ask for a better son. He's so thoughtful and caring. So ready to help. He loves school, hot dogs, wendy's, and playing. He loves his sisters and he really does try to be a good brother. Granted, yes, he's 8 and he acts like it alot, but over all, he's the greatest blessing! He's my sweet heart and I'm so grateful that he's ours.
