Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start.....sound of music anyone???
Valentine's is where we shall begin.
I attempted Heart shaped pancakes for the kiddos- and they were all right :) they were pink too, but you can't really tell what with the syrup all over the place!
And in keeping up with tradition, we headed to JCW for dinner a la deliciousness! It's fun, it's simple, it's never over crowded, and I love that every year, there's at least one dude there with a table cloth, candle and love for his lady sitting some where. It's so cute. I love these people. I'm so blessed they're ours!!!
We did a Valentine's date night the wknd before with some lovelies. This was post dinner and movie to get our fat on at JCW (we are kind of obsessed do you think???) Earlier we hit up La Jolla Groves with Chatfields also, but they couldn't come to the movie- THE VOW or get fat with us after. But, nonetheless, we always love hangin with these two lovelies.
Sometimes my sister are wack attacks and drive down once a month from Smithfield to get their nails done...ya got me, but at least it means we get to hang out once a month without question! :) Most times we end up at Red Robin, and lucky for me, all 3 came visiting this time, plus the littles, minus Jena=wish you were closer sister!
So, Kara, Hadley and Ky
Taisyn and Fin always have some deep baby conversation happening...
and me and Tass
trying to get a pic of the cousins
love it!
Now, as most have heard, we moved last month. It was a kind of whirlwind of events, but it was such a blessing. Oh how we miss our Pemberley Village peeps!!!!!! Seriously, it's been hard, but we LOVE our new HOUSE, and YARD, and CULDESAC!!!! It's going to be great once we get to know some more people in our neighborhood. Lucky for us, it came complete with some best friends already in the neighborhood (chattys) so we are loving that!
We'd thought about moving for a while, and finally realized it was time. We only looked at 2 places when Wendy called and said a house in her ward available. We jumped on it and were actually the first ones to go take a gander. We loved it! Is it my dream home? not exactly, but it's wonderful and the timing couldn't have been better. There were some unforseen OBSTACLES we shall call them, and we almost didn't get to move, but seriously, the blessings that came were miraculous and we did it.
Last night in the condo in the chair...snuggles with dad
of course we had to take pictures of everything we were leaving with our condo...not actually leaving there, but stuff we weren't taking with us.....like Max's birthday poster he's had hanging in his room for a couple years.
Sawyer was the freaking packer extraordinaire. I went non stop for 2 weeks straight. It was wretched, and she was with me the whole time. This was when she was getting dad's dresser into some bags for transport. She was so cute. She carried boxes up and down those dang condo stairs like a champ.
mas boxes
One of my saddest things to leave- sounds dumb, but we got to make this house ours, and one of the first things I did was paint up Max's room, and when he was 2, it was his favorite thing. He never wanted me to pain over it either, which I loved.
and his "city" wall....not exactly what I had in mind, but it was fine.
Here he is scraping tape off his walls
Finley was scooting around the new house one day and something on her bum caught my eye....luckily it wasn't the stinky stuff, but rather a love note from Max. So funny
just familiarizing ourselves with our new environment- bless her heart, she had a nonexistent mama for a couple days.
I put Sawyer in charge of taking some pics of the house for Jena, and this is what she came up with:
our front door
Brent assembling Max's bed in his purple room-which is in the basement away from everyone else- which he loves because "justin Bieber's favorite color is purple!"
Sometimes you move and your couch AND entertainment made for jolly green giant Brent don't fit down the stairs....so you hurry to Ikea for a tv stans, but have mattress couches for a long time.....
basement carpet/sawyer's long piggies
my cute boy
kitchen table
first night's sleep in their new room. They love it. Wiped out.
I went back and got some actual pictures of thing for Jen, so here's our main bathroom
and i am so in love with this picture. For the first 2 days from sun up to sun down the kids played outside in the back yard. It's huge and awesome and perfect. Finny couldn't go with out me, but the kids still let her know they love her.
a spot for the grill....looks so dinky....
boys first game of catch in the back yard :)
the other end of the yard
Sawyer loving chalking up the patio
my room
my teensy bathroom...those towels are embarrassing, but it is what it is....
gals room
end of hallway
cute lil organizer in the bathroom
front room not decorated
big ol kitchen
other side of the kitchen....nevermind the only 2 flower pics up....the other crashed and broke, so we have to get it fixed...but I can't handle stuff sitting around, so I hung the other 2.
our Big Ben clock
downstairs
basement
new tv stand....not as pretty as the blue, but oh well
fantastic storage room
Max's room unpacked
laundry hole in unfinished basement
and Brent was able to get his first man toy- a new lawn mower. So excited......
and Max got right familiar with it the first time around! Do Work Max!
some other condo souveniers.....these were on Max's door
The kids have loved moving into a house. They love the space and the basement and the yard. There are alot of kids in the neighborhood but they don't know alot yet. They had a hard time when we moved so I kept them at their school, but I'm thinking we'll switch them this week...I think it will help them in the friend situation. There are a lot of little boys in our ward, but Max doesn't know them super well yet and I know once he does, he'll be in heaven. Our ward is great so far. Brent got called into teaching the 16 yr olds and I got called into scouts ---Max's den....new things ahead!
So, there's the beginning of some blogfests.....
