Monday was the beginning of our Halloween festivities!!!!! How I love this week!!!!
We kicked it off with our annual Halloween friends party! Usually we do it at a park, but this time, the rain got us, so we had to switch it up to a church, but it was great still!
thanks friends for coming!
and thanks Summer, Janet, Heatherm Jess & Sabra for all your help while I sat on a chair.....next year I'll be back in full effect I promise!
Here's Jesse & her 2 of her cute boys!
Fish pond being controlled by Conli- we like to put the kids to work!
Bree, Emma & Lor- cuteness
Sum & Jess
Em/Claire, Kelly/Michael/Kylie, Blakely/Nicolle
Meg & Sabra makin some ghost suckers
Kristen/Max, Me/Hayleigh, Erin/Penny
My princesses
have you ever seen such a beautiful princess?
a plethora of children
sawyer, hayleigh, brynn, lily, triston, bubba, max, talitha, conli, easton, tay
Straight away we headed over to Mana's for the family party.
The girls wanted to change into other princess outfits for the night, so we obliged!
they both chose Tiana- good thing there are 3 of them! :)
Mana found a cute lil Halloween book that you read and record yourselves reading so you can have it for years to come. It was fun- we all read as a group, and maybe you can't understand some of it, but that's ok!

of course we like to scare the kids- cuz we're mean like that. So during craft time, JD started telling them all about this ghost that used to come and knock on the door every Halloween week when they were growing up. All the sudden, the door was knocked upon, and I think Conli's heart started palpitating straight away.
They went out to search for the ghost, but there was nothing there....
dun, Dun, DUN!!!!
Sawyer scurried back to the chair o' safety as quick at possible. She was beside herself. Conli couldn't calm down. The rest were doing the half laugh/cry/funny/scary noise. When they all came back into the living room, the doorbell rang. They eased back to the door VERY cautiously. Again, nothin and no one was there.
Thursday night we decided to have Halloween Bunco. We've all quit playing, but Halloween and Thanksgiving bunco was always the best, so we decided we'd play this time and dress up of course! Well, we didn't realize we planned it the same night as a bunch of our friends play, and lots of girls couldn't make it, but we still had fun! We had delicious dinner- soups, salads, bread. And delicious treats- sugar cookies, rice krispy treats, candy.....UGH. I ate my weight in krispies, but hey- if the treats a neutral color, it's only half as bad right gals???
I love that we dress up still. It's the most fun!
Here Heather was adjusting Steph's knobs....
We made Lindy take the group picture as punishment for not dressing up!
But I had document she was here!
and I may or may not have eaten so many krispy treats that I finally just gave in and took the last chunk out of the pan to devour! (disclaimer- i did not finish it off. I moved on to sugar cookies)
Everyone had de-robed at dinner, but Heather and I kept the spirit alive for quite a while. My costume hid the bump real well!
It was a great night, and the best of all was that we didn't even end up playing bunco! We just sat around in our jammers and talked til hours of the night. FABULOUS!!! I love you friends!
Friday, the kids had their long awaited Halloween Parade. I love Max's teacher- she looked fantastic as Raggedy Ann. And Max was happy as a clam
can be in his too small Clone Trooper costume.
I went back for round 2 that afternoon for Conli's. She was in HEAVEN. She really thought she was a princess (which she is, but...) I had done her hair and put make up on and we had to run to the store. She asked, "but mom, isn't everyone going to stare at how pretty I am?" I had to assure her it would be all right, that she wouldn't cause too much of a stir. :)
You can't really see her face in this one, but oh she was loving it. She gave Sawyer the sweetest little face and wave- I truly believe she thought she was a princess in the Disneyland Parade!
That night, we got to go to the Whalen's Halloween Party. I look forward to these things all year! I love this week cuz my friends and I make it so fun!!!!! I even asked the dr. when I was in the hospital last week if I could please go to my halloween festivities this week if I was a good girl and stayed sitting down most of the time. Luckily, he let me!
Here's Nerdle preparing the cauldron.
My man & me. SNL Justin Timberlake & I was a baby....well, I hated it, but I was comfy in my one piecer jammies from high school!
Of course a party wouldn't be a party w/o my favorite game- Blindfolded Musical Chairs. It's always a hit!
even if the boys cheat and get a bit rowdy.

Oh the fun! Thanks Sum & Sean! OH, and may I say thank you for giving me best looking food prize! I made deviled eggs like eye balls- green and purple--looked a bit rotten, but tasted good!
FINALLY, it was time for the real Halloween!
It seemed to take forever for the time to get ready to get here
(what? did that sentence make sense?)
but finally, it was 4 and we could go to the church for the trick or treating!!!!
Max was prepared for anything
Brent took them over for the festivites cuz I thought it would entail alot of walking around- which I can't do. Too bad for me that I should've gone. I was sad, but the kids had a blast and it was fantastic!

After the ward party, we hustled over to Mana's so the cousins could go trick or treating together around the cul-de-sac. Too bad that the rain started POURING right about that time.
Poor kids were SOPPING after 3 houses.
Princess Belle, Tinkerbell, Princess Leia, Snow White (and her smile for the evening....) Clone Trooper and Dragonoid
Sawyer made a prompt return after one stop. Remember how she doesn't do wind- well, she doesn't do rain either apparently.... "I'M SOAK!!! " she came running in to tell me!
Luckily Karri made a glorious discovery early this month and bought all dress ups from the Disney Store, so there were plenty of dry dresses to change in to. Conli spent the rest of the evening as Mulan and Sawyer was a princess of a different color. We chilled for a little bit, then went home to bathe and play Lego Harry Potter with Aunt Karri.

Then Pat & Brent started banging on the window and they had on creepy masks and it was fun for all. (ok, mostly only fun for the grown ups, but still fun memories for the children right?)
I love that we dress up still. It's the most fun!
