I LOVE LOVE LOVE tulips. They are one of my favorite things. They are beautiful, and come in so many beautiful colors and shapes! So, when it was time for the tulip festival and we had a pass, you bet your belly button I rounded up the kids and we went! It was a gorgeous day too! We went right after school around 4 which was good because when we were leaving, around 7, it was PACKED!
Look at my sweetest kids!
When you see a hill, it taunts you until you run down it. So, they did. They had to really.
We got caught up at the amphitheater for quite a long while because there was a group of little performing all types of songs and my kids were enthralled. Although, they were quite scantilly clad and and some of their songs were not edited. After a while of it, we took off. I wonder how you could let your child participate in a group like that, but then as I looked around, all the parents were in tube tops and booty shorts, so that explained it. Yes, that's me being judgemental. Sawyer and Finley bounded up and down this hill 46 times. Sawyer did back summersaults down it in the splits about 43 times, and they both tried to get on the stage and dance with the kids.
At the end, the dancers went out and grabbed audience members to dance with them and Sawyer was picked, and in heaven. It was cute.
Then we went on our way.
Max is the sweetest brother to this baby girl. He watches out for her so well.
He teaches her to pose correctly also.
I mean, can you handle the wonderfulness of these flowers? I can smell them just looking at them!
I had to take as many pics of the kids as possible.
So gorgeous.
We wound our way down to the pond where tons of fish were swimming and begging for eats.
It was insane! As they came up to get the food, they made the craziest sounds!!! Just popping and scurrying and swimming over eachother to get there first. It's like they never eat!
By this time, Dad was on his way. He ended up standing in a line for about 45 minutes before we gave up and just left. But not before we went up this hill to catch the beautiful view from atop!
And even more fun- there's a windy path that goes all the way down.
Or, if you prefer, you can roll down.
We found a Tulip for Tots section of the gardens and they hide life size chess and checkers! Max and Conli were in awe and played for quite a while.
Meanwhile we made ourselves look like tulips, and Sawyer and Fin played on this one blow up bouncy house for 1/2 hour. Not kidding. It was their favorite part and all it was was a little bounce house and this teeny slide! Yay for keeping my kids entertained!
