Long time no bloggie

....oh wells! Post of the century up next- 'cept- pretty sure i do those even without missing weeks at a time!!!

Let us begin at our 2nd family trip to the cabin for the year- that's a new record for us! It's been so fun to take the kiddos up and just hang in the wilderness, they love it, we love it, it's awesome! Thanks Dad for the cabin- we love it, and we love you!

First stop=dinner

Second=Pick a movie and pretend you're VERY mad when mommy takes your picture

Third=play an intense game of RUMMIKUB

and strategize with your sweet lil team mate to only get beaten out by the bad boys in the end

Fourth=D.A.R.T.S
Max's favorite cabin past time
lucky for you-he doesn't pose for pictures

Con's try

wonder where Mr. Max gets the posing from? Just wondering....

oh look- another poser- imagine that!

Me showcasing the outcome

It was a good sleepover- as always- and oh how the trees were a'changin colors....don't cry for me.....i never said it wasn't beautiful, but oh what awaits....winter....my slow death....maybe this year it won't last til June? Maybe? Crossies!

Playing at Mana's one Sunday evening, the girlies got into the ice cream. And boy do they love their ice cream!Meanwhile, there were nappers on the porch...JD awoke when he realized the quietness that was me trying to sneak a pic....

hahaha--- didn't wake up this time didja J!!!? BWAHAHAHAHAHA
a glimpse for you of my lil helper!
her helpers outfit is the best!

OH another blessed movie night. This time it was Sisters Keeper. That would be why you notice our rosy cheeks, and removed eye make up. oh.the.tears. Good movie. Good movie. Just be prepared to weep-like you may snort outloud or have to hold your breath a few moments to compose yourself weep.....thanks for coming m'ladies!
maybe Kara and I thought we wanted more popcorn than we really could handle. What with all the weeping, you don't have much of an appetite. I tried to scarf as much down after the movie as possible.

The kids got a wild idea to decorate for Halloween a titch early this year- fine with me- so we pulled out the deco and got to 'ratin a couple weeks ago! Here's Max's pumpkin from last year for the punkin patch

the banner of fun that Heather and I made last year

and while we were decorating, figured we could stick up Max's bday banner too!
don't judge me by this one- it was my first one ever, and i had to hand make a bunch of things....

Max's bday was last Sunday, so he awoke bright and early to be receiver of gifts, which he is always so willing to let sister help him open

jumping through the birthday door

conli taking a leap

it wouldn't be a birthday without the birthday blueberry muffins!

Long live Roberts' tradition!

We celebrated his bday at Mana's that night too- with the family. Good times as always!

Steph's mom has built the best pool ever in her backyard and we got the privilege of playing in it last week. It's seriously thee best!

here they are enjoying the hot tub....with spiced meats.....

always have to take a few of these beauties

there's a teensy cliff for jumpers' delight. Max really wanted to jump, but was a bit shy, and since I was not playing in the cold water that day, Steph took one for the team and jumped with him!

Conli ventured down the waterslide a bunch- that's huge for her- oh the bravery

Sawyer played it safe and kept to the hot tub the entire time- but she did get a bit more comfy in swimming with her life jacket on!!!!

the kiddos....don't mind conli's face looks a bit possessed....she's really not, well most of the time

my sweet boy

Max also wanted to try the rope swing out. After watching Steph's awesome backflip off it he figured it couldn't really be that hard....oh but it was.....

he did however, manage to climb almost to the tippy top....can you tell how excited he was? i love his face

first thing these 2 did when we got there was run over to the water slide. Conli's always afraid of everything remember? Next thing I know, they were so cute- Max, the awesome big brother- sat her on his lap so she wouldn't be scared and they were on their way

the goo drying off

oh wretched potty training

how i detest thee

Sawyer's been on the potty training bandwagon for ages, or so we thought, she talks about it and pretends to do it all the time. Remember if you will a few months ago, we, i mean I, actually started potty training her- it went straight over her head. She wanted NOTHING to do with the real thing. So, we quit, cause mama hasn't the patience for messing around.

Well, at Costco monday, Daddy decided there will be NO MORE DIAPERS paid for by him. oh really? I'm going to pay for them with my awesome, high paying job?

soooo. down the hatch.

the first day we went diaperless=NOT GOOD.
we got our carpets cleaned 3 weeks ago and she undid the cleanliness 5 times over. Spilling everywhere. And how'd she respond??? "Ma, I wet!" remove the unders, and get more. She couldn't have cared less! Needless to say, I was MAD!

That diaperless morning caused much repentance on my part!

Day 2: decided to try another way. Mind you- Max and Conli were champs in the potty training dept. One day- 2 accidents. done. None of this spilling on the carpet over and over and over.

So this was all new territory to moi.

So again, Day 2: spent most of the morning like this:

If you ain't gonna go to the potty, I'll bring the dang potty to you! Every twenty minutes on the dot!
Miracle of miracles

she did it.

she has had one accident in 4 days!

girls' got it down.

I mean, if you're gonna go, might as well have some good reads to keep you comp'ny

Max's friend party was Saturday. He wanted a basketball party. I was not planning on doing the cake, but ended up with the job Saturday morning! Turned out fine- well, that is, if you don't look at it, and only eat it! Don't mind the stripes for the ball---3 minutes to do them, no more powdered sugar, one messy tube of store bought frosting,
plese, don't judge me

We met the "teams" over at the basketball court -church provided-amen!

Brexston, Taylor, Ashton, Max, Isaac, Colby, Burke and Brax

Brent played "host"/Big Ref

The whistle may have just come in so handy with these 8 crazy boys that we might just be implementing VonTrapp Family Values at our home. I've already thought up Conli's "tune". Serious- he blew that whistle, and you've never seen these guys come to "attention" quicker. Pure Quiet and Attention

First up- divide into teams and have some relays

strategize men!
team Green huddle

Sawyer wasn't has happy with the whistle, but she dealt with it

and amidst the party fun, she found her way to the cutest lil nursery potty....these toilets are my favorite. I will have one in my house some day. Mini Pots=the best!

shot making contest

easing the whistle pain

Heavy heavy hangover thy poor head.... i love Max and Brexston's faces in this- they thought it was the funniest!

DOH!

oh the anxiety leading up to the bonk

cake=good

team picture.

and i leave you with this: crazy hair day at school yesterday. HAHAHAH!!! Kid doesn't have much hair, so we figured a wig would do the trick! lovely!!!!
